How Knowing Your Personality Can Accelerate Your Performance
The most difficult thing in life is to know yourself.
― Thales
Without a solid, scientifically-backed understanding of your basic temperamental personality traits, what I call your Basic Personality Tendencies, you will find yourself frustrated and ineffective trying to live up to your potential.
In this evidence-based talk, you’re going to learn about your core personality tendencies. We will take what personality science has discovered and apply it to your life and performance.
Your standing on each of these Basic Personality Tendencies can serve both as a strength and weakness. This talk will not only help you learn where you fall on each of these 5 Basic Personality Tendencies, it will also teach you what it means for your success in work and life and what to do about it.
How To Optimize Working Remotely
Although many of us have often fantasized about how great it would be to work from home, for most of us, the reality is much different. Without the structure and immediate accountability that accompanies working in the office, we often find it difficult to get started, stay focused, and maintain morale.
During these changing times, we need to adapt if we are going to thrive. By understanding how our psychology, physiology, and neurology works, we can take our productivity to the next level.
As a performance neuropsychologist and executive coach, Dr. Friesen has helped hundreds of clients increase their motivation, productivity, and effectiveness when working from home.
This talk is chock-full of examples and easily implementable strategies designed to help employees working from home leverage what we know from applied neuroscience and performance psychology to maintain their health, energy, focus, morale, motivation, and productivity.
How to increase psychological, physiological, and neurological toughness and resilience
We’ve all heard how bad chronic stress is for our health and it is true that chronic stress without adaptation is a serious threat to our health and performance.
One major contributor to this is technological and societal advances, which, on the one hand, have resulted in amazing improvements in our modern lifestyles and workplaces. Despite these benefits however, these same technological advances are causing our lives to become increasingly more complex and stressful and has led to significant problems with our health, relationships, productivity, or longevity.
Many have also observed that each new generation seems to be less and less resilient. This appears to be an unfortunate byproduct of these same technological and societal advances.
One of the main reasons for this dilemma is that there is now a significant mismatch between what our minds and bodies were designed to do and how we are living our lives.
This is not just due to a loss of psychological hardiness. It’s also due to a loss of physiological and neurological toughness. But not all stress is bad, as there are specific types of short-term psychological, physiological, and neurological stress that can actually improve our health, productivity, and longevity.
This talk will review the societal changes that have reduced our resilience. Most importantly, it will provide actionable strategies to improve your physical and mental hardiness and improve your ability to handle the inevitable stress of the modern world.
How to Optimize your brain for performance and longevity
The human brain has 100 billion neurons, each neuron connected to 10 thousand other neurons. Sitting on your shoulders is the most complicated object in the known universe.
― Michio Kaku
Despite being the most complicated object in the universe, with proper knowledge, we can learn to increase our brain’s performance and longevity. In this talk you will learn the latest on the effects of sleep, exercise, nutrition, and stress on your neuropsychological performance and longevity.
You will also learn the latest research and applications coming out of advanced neuroscience labs from around the world and why you need to pay serious attention to this if you are serious about your performance and longevity.
Understanding the science is one thing. Knowing how to apply this knowledge to your own life is another. For this reason, special emphasis will be placed on what you can do today to enhance your brain’s performance and keep it in peak condition for many years to come.
